Open-source libraries for multiple programming languages are available to support programmers who want to build, modify and use X3D models in their applications. Each library uses the strict typing to only permit creation and validation of high-quality models that conform to node, field and value requirements of the X3D Architecture. It has also implemented server-side X3D programming using node. Much work is active and continuing. We are working to make X3D model construction, modification and publication both consistent and easy for any programmer. This work is especially important for X3D v4 Implementations to advance the draft specification. Please join the x3d-public web3d. Results : The codebase has been re-established at Xj3D Sourceforge project.
Several project builds are maintained on external repositories but their corresponding websites are automatically built and updated on web3d. Resolution: we maintained stability with the source web3D. Separate projects have made excellent improvements to Xj3D over the years, but were never re-integrated into the master code base. We hope to capture, merge and test these improvements in version control, and then issue a series of new releases. Please contact us if you have source code to integrate into the Xj3D project.
Past bugs and issues can be transcribed as appropriate to maintain historical rationales. The orginal Xj3D website is moderately complete but woefully out of date.
